The GSA continues to hear complaints from students that the funding packages they were offered when deciding to come to Carleton have been misleading. In some cases, funding has been assigned for semesters when it is nearly impossible to receive it, and in other cases funding has been assigned to the third year of a two-year degree, which means that students who graduate on schedule give up part of the funding they had expected to receive. We suspect that there might be a pattern of Carleton offering funding packages which are higher than they end up paying out, to make their offers appear more attractive.

If you or your colleagues have had the experience of not being able to receive the full funding package originally offered to you, we would like to hear about it. Please contact
