Job Posting: Community Garden Coordinator Part-Time Contract

 

Position Term:                    April to November 2017

Remuneration:                    $18.00/hour

Number of Positions:    1

Contract Description:

The Community Garden Coordinator will:

  • coordinate the operations of Kitigànensag, the GSA-Carleton Community Garden
  • assist in the development of policies and procedures relating to the garden
  • manage the distribution of plots, and the horticultural development of the site
  • oversee a budget and organize events
  • coordinate volunteers, and ensure rules are followed
  • attend regular meetings
  • maintain close communication with the GSA Executive and staff
  • other duties as required

Qualifications:             

  • experience with community garden or related projects
  • basic knowledge of gardening practices
  • experience coordinating volunteers
  • knowledge of the Carleton University campus and the role of the GSA
  • self-motivating and independent worker
  • enjoys working with people
