The GSA provides assistance to help defray the cost of holding multi-department or faculty-wide social events, designed to foster networking and increased student awareness and involvement. The total amount available is $200, and the deadline for application is 15 April.

Department Support, Intellectual

Each department is eligible to receive up to $200 per fiscal year (May-April) to help defray the cost of sponsoring a speaker, workshop, or other academically oriented event. In order to receive funding from the GSA, all events must interest the majority of graduate students in that department, plus be open to all other graduate students at Carleton. The deadline for application is 15 April.

Department Support, Capital

In order to continue to meet graduate student departments' needs over time, the GSA provides a capital grant. Each department is eligible to receive up to $150 per fiscal year (May-April) to cover the cost of capital equipment, equipment upgrades, and software to be used by graduate students within the department.

GSA Councillor Credit

Councillors are eligible for a $20 credit (flat rate) for every council meeting attended, up to a total of (8) meetings during the Fall and Winter terms. Councillor attendance will be recorded and the funds will be held by the GSA as a credit, to be used as a reimbursement for monies spent on graduate students in the councilor's respective department or departmental society.
