LadyBits: the Period Sex Edition

2015/11/17 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Sex during menstruation can be a taboo topic for some. Can it be done? Is it too messy? Are there any benefits? While we acknowledge everyone’s experiences with periods are not the same, we hope to demystify ‘that time of the month’ in a safe, fun and consensual environment.

Join us for the first ever LadyBits discussion, hosted by the Graduate Students Association’s Consent Culture Committee. This candid conversation will be held on Tuesday, November 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Graduate Students Association, located on the 6th floor of the University Centre. We will talk about:

*menstruation and gender identity

*(cross) cultural myths and understandings of menstruation

*menstruation and sexy times

This conversation is intended for those who experience the brunt of stigma surrounding menstruation/the ability to menstruate. This includes cis-women, transmen and transwomen.

Refreshments will be provided.

Questions? Contact the GSA’s Sexual Assault Outreach Co-coordinators, Leigh-Ann Worrell (leighann.worrell@gsacarleton.ca) or Shannon Mulligan (shannon.mulligan@gsacarleton.ca).
