The State of Public Science in Canada

Are federal cutbacks to research programs depriving Canadians of essential information? Should public research be more focused on market outcomes? Should government scientists be able to communicate directly with the public?
Join the Graduate Students’ Association and Evidence for Democracy for a panel discussion on the state of public science in Canada.
The panel will feature participants with diverse perspectives on the changing landscape of government science, public funding and its relation to evidence-based policy and democracy in Canada including:

Emily Norgang Senior Researcher – Canadian Labour Congress

Jake Rice National Senior Ecosystem Advisor – Department of Fisheries and Oceans
Katie Gibbs the Executive Director of Evidence for Democracy will moderate the panel.
