Open Access Publishing Award

The Carleton Graduate Students’ Association, Library, and Research Office Joint Open Access Publishing Award was established in 2010 to support Carleton University graduate students in publishing research in open access journals. Open access journals are an alternative to the current user-pay system for accessing academic research. Fees are charged to the author/creator in order to make them open and accessible. This award is designed to offset these publishing fees for graduate students. Up to 5 monetary awards of $1000.00 will be distributed.

Any GSA member who has had a paper published or accepted (pending minor revisions) in an open access journal since January 1, 2015, can apply.

Applicants can read the documentation for the award, including frequently asked questions, and find the application form on the library website.
