Leafy, peaceful, and comfortable, the lounge has been called the best-kept secret at Carleton. Facilities include, public access computers, free wireless internet access, free local phone, a lounge area with couches and comfy chairs, coffee and tea, a microwave, and tonnes of green plants! The lounge is a great place to go to study, meet friends, or find out about your GSA.
We are proud to serve inexpensive fair-trade coffee and teas for only 75 cents per mug.
At the GSA we recognize that many graduate students have children and that it can be difficult to find child-friendly spaces on campus. In the lounge’s toy bin, you will find building blocks, colouring books, and the classic Mr. Potato Head, which your children are free to use under your supervision. Grads are welcome to play with the toys too. Their is also a baby change table in one of the washrooms.
The lounge also has a free supply of condoms, female (internal) condoms, lubricant, and dental dams, so come get some inclusive sexual health products.
The lounge is great for meetings, and small events. Graduate students, and campus groups may book the room for evening events from 6-9PM Monday to Thursday by calling the office or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Booking the space is free of charge.
